Motivating yourself to go to the gym is sometimes the hardest part of working out. You could go run on a treadmill for 30 minutes, or you could stay and catch up on your favorite Netflix show. In order to make your gym workouts a little less painful, it helps if you listen to music. Not only does it make your workouts more enjoyable, but they also go by faster. To help get your playlist started, here are a few songs that we currently jam out to whenever we’re getting our cardio on.
Kanye West – The New Workout Plan
No explanation needed for this one. It’s basically like having a personal trainer in MP3 form. “1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and get them sit ups right, and tuck your tummy tight, and do your crunches like this.”
Halsey – Colors
There’s something about the beat that just makes us want to move. Halsey’s lyrics are also very catchy (i.e. “you’re dripping like a saturated sunrise”). You better believe that we’re jamming out to this song during our 30-minute cardio sessions.
Kanye West – Stronger
“That that don’t kill me, can only make me stronger.” This is exactly what you need to hear as you work out. If it doesn’t kill us, it can only make us stronger!
Shawn Mendes – Treat You Better
Sometimes you can use your time on the treadmill to catch up on your feelings. This is the perfect song to do so. The lyrics are romantic enough to get your eyes a little watery, but the beat is catchy enough to keep you moving. You get the best of both worlds!
Justin Timberlake – Sexy Back
We had to take it back with this one. Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” is perfect for working out. With a beat like this, how can you not want to get up and move?
