Motivating yourself to workout is often times the hardest part of working out. Sure you could go workout OR you could stay in and binge watch Netflix. Seems like a…
We worked all winter for that essential “summer body.” But now that we’ve achieved this body, what motivates us to work out? Apart from staying in shape, we need something that makes us enjoy working out. We love having the perfect soundtrack to keep our energy flowing. It puts us in a great mood and makes those 25 minutes on the elliptical almost enjoyable. For our workout playlist, we’re mixing new jams and old classics from some of our favorite artists. Here’s what made our list.
Janet Jackson – Rhythm Nation
It’s no secret that Janet is an amazing musician. Every time we watch this video or hear this song, we can’t help but move. We love listening to this song during our warm up – a quick jog, some stretches and bit of Rhythm Nation to get our blood flowing.
Rihanna – Work
To keep up the high energy, of course, we chose Rihanna’s Work. The hook puts us in a trance and makes those squats somewhat enjoyable (ok let’s be real, there’s a bit of twerking involved).
Selena Gomez – Come & Get It
If you don’t know by now, Selena is our girl. While many of her new songs are great for listening and dancing to, this song pumps us up. The lyrics remind us of how hot we’re going to look in that brand new bikini.
Justin Bieber – Sorry
Even though Justin always seems to have a reason to say sorry, he doesn’t have to apologize for making his song. It never fails to keep us moving.
Calvin Harris – Feels Ft. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean
This may seem odd, but Pharrell is our beauty goals. He ages like expensive leather and fine wine, and we’re hoping that listening to his music while we strength train will have the same results for us.
Beyonce – Formation
“I came to slay, b*tch,” just about sums it up.
Britney Spears – Work B**ch
Probably the #1 song for working out. Britney reminds us why we’re in the gym in the first place.
Bruno Mars – 24K Magic
We aren’t sure when Bruno got so much swag, but we love it! He never fails to put a smile on our faces, especially when we’re trying to keep up our pace on the treadmill.
Disclosure – Latch Ft. Sam Smith
We never thought the smooth, melodic voice of Sam Smith would be great for working out, but when paired with this beat, we love it!
Want to know what’s even harder than getting motivated to go to the gym? Being motivated to complete the last 3 minutes of our workout. But these songs are perfect for that!
